The Way to Real Health

By Dr. Evelyn Higgins

On April 7, 2010 I will leave on a journey to complete a 500-mile trek through a popular pilgrimage route – the Compostela de Santiago, a trail crossing the Pyrenees Mountains from France to the NW tip of Spain. This path has been traversed by many over the past 1,200 years and is very rich in culture. I am taking this journey because I’d like to create awareness that health is more than simply the absence of disease.

We will discuss what I call “the four pillars to health: the physical, the emotional, the intellectual, and the spiritual.” It is in creating the balance of all four that we find the way to real health. All four aspects must be in balance to achieve optimum health and thereby live with purpose of becoming the best that you can be. www.thewaytorealhealth.com will serve to not only chronicle my journey, but to inspire others to take their own personal journeys towards real health – inside and out.

On the trail, we will discover the mysteries of life and create new life habits to make us become the best that each of us can be. I challenge you to participate in the 35-day walk – the “Walk and Talk the Talk Challenge.” As I walk and talk, I will use it as a way to motivate and inspire you to become the best YOU that you can be.
