"I've heard few
arguments as eye-opening as Barron's connection between suburban up-zoning and
open borders – should be read by anyone concerned about the direction of the
country and understanding how we arrived here."

WEAPONIZED
The Left's Capture and
Destruction of America's Sacred Institutions

WEAPONIZATION OF OUR SACRED INSTITUTIONS IS
HOW THE LEFT DESTROYS WHAT REMAINS OF AMERICA
In his timely new book WEAPONIZED: The Left's Capture, and Destruction of America's Sacred Institutions, New York City-based reporter-at-large Seth Barron exposes the infiltration and destruction of essential institutions by the progressive Left in order to undermine society and impose its radical agenda upon the American people. Former New York Times reporter John Tierney says: "He traces the anti-carceral Third-Worldism of (New York Mayor) Zohran Mamdani to its philosophical origins and unveils Angela Davis as the secret sharer of the contemporary left."
What is the nature of the threat? Seth says, "I see the Left as inveterately incapable of minding its business. Their blatant warning is always: 'You may not be interested in politics, but politics is interested in you.' The Right always disregards this sentiment, thinking, 'Well, I don't care if it's interested in me; I'm still not interested.' The Left love the idea that it's interested in them; they aren't surprised, because they identify so strongly with politics that they consider it their right to be interested in you and so to mind your business. In other words, the Left includes everyone who is interested in poking in other people's business."
The four essential institutions the Left has infiltrated and destroyed are:
CITIZENSHIP - When did the "American Dream" stop being exclusively for Americans, and has now become an aspiration we owe to everyone else in the world?
POLICING - Why "Defund the Police" is not only dangerous for citizens who want public safety but is at its core a cynical strategy for the radical Left to take over the last public institution not owned by the Democratic Party.
HOUSING - How "density" and "YIMBY" are sneaky ways for the Left to wage war on the suburbs that they see as racist, exploitative, environmentally unsustainable bastions of white supremacy. YIMBY is an acronym for "Yes in My Back Yard," which is a pro-housing movement advocating for increased housing supply, density, and zoning reform to combat affordability crises. Supporters, often opposing NIMBY ("Not in My Back Yard") restrictions, push for transit-oriented development and diverse housing types to reduce high rents and promote equity.
EDUCATION - How the Left unionized education and leveraged its members' dues into an electoral slush fund, froze out parents, gained control of curriculum, and turned school into an indoctrination center for radical perspectives on gender and privilege.
In WEAPONIZED you'll learn:
· Why "Housing" is on Seth's list of
weaponized institutions;
· Why "public safety?" since the
police are considered one of the institutions that are reliably conservative;
· Why issues like climate change or 'Palestine'
have become central concerns of local domestic politics;
· Why the push for "walkable cities"
is problematic;
· Why the teachers' unions are so central to
leftist politics; and
· That to ignore the radical leftist forces which seek to interrupt, distort, and heave up the American way of life is not healthy for America.
We've often heard "As New York City goes, so goes the nation." Rep. Chip Roy has recently introduced legislation entitled The Mamdani Act which enacts sweeping immigration law changes that would deport, denaturalize, deny U.S. citizenship, or entry to any alien who is a member of a socialist party, a communist party, the Chinese Communist Party, or Islamic fundamentalist party, or advocates for socialism, communism, Marxism, or Islamic fundamentalism.
We must remember that most of the Mamdani type destruction of New York City began with the Obama-Biden regimes when they imposed a radical "whole of government" implementation of the hard-left equalitarian, pro-trans, pr-DEI, open-borders agenda. President Trump has rolled back many of these actions, but New York City still remains the example for the world to follow - it was the first capital of the United States, and despite its recent socio-political collapse, one has strong hopes that the city will rise again and prove worthy of its magnificent history.
"Society is defined by its institutions, broad systems that govern how we live. These institutions are informed by shared norms and values and represent an implicit mutual agreement among members of a society that things are run one way and not another. Controlling the operation of the four institutions is key to controlling the country. My goal in writing this book is to look under the hoods of these apparatuses, get a sense of how they work politically, and show how the Left has already warped the American way of life to the point where it may be unrecognizable, if not unrecoverable."
